The average alkali metals; sodium import price stood at $19,786 per ton in 2022, jumping by 126% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed modest growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 164% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $22,881 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($24,350 per ton), while the price for Germany amounted to $8,605 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+34.7%).
