At the same time, Ireland (+52.8%), Uganda (+42.0%), Democratic Republic of the Congo (+26.4%), India (+25.1%), Iran (+13.3%), Russia (+12.4%), Pakistan (+11.6%), the Philippines (+9.7%), Vietnam (+6.5%) and the UK (+3.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Ireland emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the world, with a CAGR of +52.8% from 2012-2022. While the share of Uganda (+6.3 p.p.), India (+5.3 p.p.), Ireland (+3.5 p.p.) and Democratic Republic of the Congo (+2 p.p.) increased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, India ($47M), Vietnam ($34M) and Russia ($33M) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together comprising 8.9% of global imports. The UK, Mexico, Pakistan, Iran, the Philippines, Uganda, Ireland and Democratic Republic of the Congo lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 6.6%.
Among the main importing countries, Democratic Republic of the Congo, with a CAGR of +21.9%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices By Country
The average blow-moulding machine import price stood at $22,360 per unit in 2022, waning by -9.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a perceptible curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 27%.
