Brown Rice Price in Brazil (CIF) - 2023
The average brown rice import price stood at $455 per ton in July 2023, standing approximately at the previous month. Over the period from July 2022 to July 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2022 an increase of 9.1% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum in July 2023.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Uruguay ($483 per ton), while the price for Paraguay totaled $437 per ton.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uruguay (+2.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Brown Rice Price in Brazil (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average brown rice export price amounted to $444 per ton, waning by -8.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a slight decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the average export price increased by 31%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $613 per ton. From 2018 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to the UK ($455 per ton) and Spain ($444 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($345 per ton) and Portugal ($435 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Portugal (-1.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Brown Rice Imports in Brazil
