Coconut Oil Price in Australia (CIF) - 2023
The average coconut oil import price stood at $2,461 per ton in July 2023, increasing by 19% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a noticeable setback. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $3,289 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to July 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was India ($4,254 per ton), while the price for Fiji ($1,163 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Solomon Islands (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Coconut Oil Price in Australia (FOB) - 2023
The average coconut oil export price stood at $4,113 per ton in July 2023, falling by -32.4% against the previous month. Overall, the export price recorded a noticeable slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in June 2023 when the average export price increased by 386% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $9,257 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to July 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was France ($34,586 per ton), while the average price for exports to Japan ($3,834 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+40.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Coconut Oil Imports in Australia
In 2022, the amount of coconut (copra) oil imported into Australia contracted significantly to 11K tons, reducing by -15.1% compared with the previous year's figure. Overall, imports showed a slight reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 16% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 13K tons, and then shrank notably in the following year.
In value terms, coconut oil imports dropped to $30M in 2022. Coconut Oil Exports in Australia
