Coffee Extract Price in Norway (CIF) - 2023
The average coffee extract import price stood at $13,091 per ton in August 2023, declining by -5.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 an increase of 20% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $14,709 per ton. From February 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($19,754 per ton), while the price for Hungary ($6,421 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hungary (+4.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Coffee Extract Price in Norway (FOB) - 2022
The average coffee extract export price stood at $23,343 per ton in 2022, waning by -3.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, posted measured growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 40% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $31,765 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Iceland ($34,289 per ton), while the average price for exports to Finland ($12,285 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Iceland (+6.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Coffee Extract Imports in Norway
In 2022, supplies from abroad of coffee extracts, essences and concentrates decreased by -3.1% to 2.3K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.7% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 17% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 2.6K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, coffee extract imports fell modestly to $27M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 8.5%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $28M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
