Coffee Extract Price in Tanzania (FOB) - 2022
The average coffee extract export price stood at $3,737 per ton in 2022, picking up by 36% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a perceptible setback. The export price peaked at $8,024 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was South Africa ($4,822 per ton), while the average price for exports to Rwanda ($1,365 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Morocco (+94.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Coffee Extract Price in Tanzania (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average coffee extract import price amounted to $3,609 per ton, which is down by -8.1% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a modest increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, coffee extract import price decreased by -22.8% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 38%. The import price peaked at $4,676 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Kenya ($8,094 per ton), while the price for Thailand ($629 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+11.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Coffee Extract Exports in Tanzania
For the fourth year in a row, Tanzania recorded growth in overseas shipments of coffee extracts, essences and concentrates, which increased by 11% to 5.7K tons in 2022. In general, exports enjoyed significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 434%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
In value terms, coffee extract exports soared to $21M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports posted significant growth.
