Dried Apricot Price in Uganda (CIF) - 2022
The average dried apricot import price stood at $3,697 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 9.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a pronounced decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 138%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $5,905 per ton. From 2018 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Kenya ($14,500 per ton), while the price for the United Arab Emirates ($3,346 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+26.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average dried apricot export price amounted to $1,726 per ton, waning by -75.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 70%. The export price peaked at $8,273 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Norway ($8,667 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bahrain stood at $1,500 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Norway (-2.2%).
Dried Apricot Imports in Uganda
After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of dried apricots decreased by -38.5% to 501 kg in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 292%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 815 kg, and then reduced notably in the following year.
In value terms, dried apricot imports shrank notably to $1.9K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate significant growth.
