Ferro-Manganese Price in Vietnam (FOB) - 2021
In December 2021, the average ferro-manganese export price amounted to $2,298 per ton, approximately equating the previous month. In general, export price indicated a strong increase from December 2020 to December 2021: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +6.2% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2021 figures, ferro-manganese export price decreased by -0.0% against November 2021 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2021 when the average export price increased by 70% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $2,298 per ton in November 2021, and then declined slightly in the following month.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In December 2021, the countries with the highest prices were Malaysia ($2,298 per ton) and India ($2,298 per ton), while the average price for exports to Pakistan ($2,298 per ton) and South Korea ($2,298 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Indonesia (+9.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Ferro-Manganese Price in Vietnam (CIF) - 2021
In December 2021, the average ferro-manganese import price amounted to $1,569 per ton, dropping by -2.2% against the previous month. Over the period from December 2020 to December 2021, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2021 when the average import price increased by 31% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $1,605 per ton in November 2021, and then declined slightly in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2021, the country with the highest price was Japan ($2,145 per ton), while the price for China ($1,358 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+6.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Ferro-Manganese Exports in Vietnam
Ferro-manganese exports from Vietnam dropped markedly to 15K tons in 2022, falling by -29.5% against 2021. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 144%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 22K tons, and then contracted rapidly in the following year.
In value terms, ferro-manganese exports fell sharply to $26M in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw a remarkable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 259%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $41M, and then shrank dramatically in the following year.

Ferro-Manganese Imports in Vietnam

Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 1,221%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 23K tons, and then declined sharply in the following year.
In value terms, ferro-manganese imports reduced rapidly to $19M in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 1,244%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $34M, and then contracted dramatically in the following year.
