In 2022, the average frozen fish import price amounted to $2,770 per ton, picking up by 25% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.1%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $2,821 per ton in 2014; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Chile ($7,854 per ton), while the price for Oman ($893 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+5.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average frozen fish export price amounted to $3,993 per ton, waning by -5.1% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.7%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 30%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $4,208 per ton, and then declined in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($9,732 per ton), while the average price for exports to Cote d'Ivoire ($1,146 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Thailand (+16.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
