Glass Fibre Fabrics Price in Malaysia (CIF) - 2021
The average glass fibre fabrics import price stood at $2,941 per ton in December 2021, waning by -9.9% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2021 when the average import price increased by 52% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $9,763 per ton in September 2021; however, from October 2021 to December 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Singapore ($4,304 per ton), while the price for China amounted to $2,340 per ton.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Singapore (+6.5%).
Glass Fibre Fabrics Price in Malaysia (FOB) - 2021
In December 2021, the average glass fibre fabrics export price amounted to $3,324 per ton, with an increase of 23% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The export price peaked at $3,470 per ton in April 2021; however, from May 2021 to December 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Indonesia.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Indonesia amounted to +0.6% per month.
Glass Fibre Fabrics Imports in Malaysia
In 2022, approx. 3.6K tons of glass fibre fabrics were imported into Malaysia; picking up by 10% on 2021 figures. In general, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 12%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 4K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, glass fibre fabrics imports surged to $19M in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a deep setback.
