China (178K units) remains the largest injection-moulding machine producing country worldwide, accounting for 35% of total volume. Moreover, injection-moulding machine production in China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest producer, the United States (50K units), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Austria (46K units), with a 9% share.

The average injection-moulding machine import price stood at $29,079 per unit in 2022, standing approx. at the previous year. Exports from China increased at an average annual rate of +10.9% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Thailand (+21.6%), the UK (+15.5%) and India (+10.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Thailand emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +21.6% from 2012-2022. Malaysia, South Korea and Italy experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Germany (-3.9%), Japan (-6.1%) and Taiwan (Chinese) (-8.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of China (+36 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global exports from 2012-2022, the share of Taiwan (Chinese) (-3 p.p.), Germany (-4.1 p.p.) and Japan (-9.5 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest injection-moulding machine supplying countries worldwide were China ($1.7B), Japan ($1B) and Germany ($950M), together comprising 67% of global exports. South Korea, Italy, Taiwan (Chinese), Thailand, India, the UK and Malaysia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 14%.
