Plaster Price in the Czech Republic (FOB) - 2023
In August 2023, the average plaster export price amounted to $136 per ton, waning by -60.9% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, showed perceptible growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2023 when the average export price increased by 234% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $348 per ton, and then reduced remarkably in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($297 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($86.0 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Croatia (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Plaster Price in the Czech Republic (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average plaster import price amounted to $135 per ton, reducing by -11.7% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 an increase of 16% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $153 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to August 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Poland ($249 per ton), while the price for Germany ($120 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (+4.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Plaster Exports in the Czech Republic
In 2022, overseas shipments of plaster decreased by -22.6% to 29K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Overall, total exports indicated noticeable growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.9% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports decreased by -25.6% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 55%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 39K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, plaster exports fell sharply to $5.4M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed a noticeable decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 84%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $11M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Plaster Imports in the Czech Republic
Plaster imports into the Czech Republic expanded sharply to 59K tons in 2022, increasing by 9.1% against 2021 figures. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt setback.
In value terms, plaster imports shrank to $6.3M in 2022. Overall, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 18%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $7.2M, and then dropped in the following year.
