The average preserved peas export price stood at $1,295 per ton in 2022, increasing by 24% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The export price peaked at $1,345 per ton in 2013; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to El Salvador ($1,338 per ton) and Nicaragua ($1,328 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United States ($1,049 per ton) and Guatemala ($1,245 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Honduras (+2.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average preserved peas import price stood at $1,235 per ton in 2022, flattening at the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a pronounced slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 75%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $2,970 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for the United States.
