Preserved Sweet Corn Price in Croatia (CIF) - 2023
The average preserved sweet corn import price stood at $2,038 per ton in June 2023, remaining stable against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.7%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 18% against the previous month. The import price peaked in June 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Poland ($3,040 per ton), while the price for China ($1,126 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+17.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Preserved Sweet Corn Price in Croatia (FOB) - 2022
The average preserved sweet corn export price stood at $1,776 per ton in 2022, increasing by 24% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a perceptible shrinkage. The export price peaked at $2,178 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Montenegro ($1,924 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina ($1,678 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Slovenia (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Preserved Sweet Corn Imports in Croatia
For the fourth consecutive year, Croatia recorded growth in supplies from abroad of sweet corn prepared or preserved, which increased by 3.9% to 3.5K tons in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.9% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 12%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, preserved sweet corn imports expanded sharply to $4.9M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +11.4% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 18% against the previous year. Overall, exports showed a mild shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 35% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 254 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
