The average import price for crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic invertebrates, prepared or preserveds stood at $7,303 per ton in August 2023, with an increase of 12% against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in October 2022 when the average import price increased by 18% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $7,488 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to August 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Italy ($12,104 per ton), while the price for Slovenia ($4,437 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Romania (+5.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic invertebrates, prepared or preserveds stood at $7,153 per ton in October 2023, shrinking by -9.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 an increase of 38% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $9,083 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to October 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Montenegro ($9,620 per ton), while the average price for exports to Serbia ($5,488 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kosovo (+10.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
