In 2022, the average import price for ether-alcohols and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives (excluding 2,2-oxydiethanol) amounted to $3,009 per ton, approximately reflecting the previous year. In general, the import price, however, posted prominent growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the average import price increased by 74%. The import price peaked at $3,020 per ton in 2021, and then reduced modestly in the following year.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from South Africa ($3,584 per ton) and France ($3,371 per ton), while the price for Saudi Arabia ($2,557 per ton) and China ($2,571 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Saudi Arabia (+7.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, the export price saw a buoyant increase. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Cote d'Ivoire ($39,444 per ton), while the average price for exports to Sudan stood at $3,940 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Mauritania (+4.3%).
