The average glass fibre chopped strand import price stood at $2,115 per ton in 2022, surging by 44% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a deep contraction. The import price peaked at $4,880 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($23,713 per ton), while the price for Slovakia ($1,628 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Sweden (+23.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average glass fibre chopped strand export price amounted to $32,391 per ton, dropping by -37.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a noticeable slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 251% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $51,811 per ton, and then reduced rapidly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Mauritania ($55,643 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($13,129 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2013 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Denmark (+19.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Imports of Glass Fibre Chopped Strand in Norway
For the fourth year in a row, Norway recorded growth in overseas purchases of glass fibre chopped strands, which increased by 9.5% to 557 tons in 2022.
