Price for Non-Citrus Fruits Not Elsewhere Classified in Tanzania (FOB) - 2022

The average export price for non-citrus fruits not elsewhere classified stood at $758 per ton in 2022, surging by 22% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 54% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $1,107 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($3,000 per ton), while the average price for exports to Democratic Republic of the Congo ($175 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Uganda (+98.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for non-citrus fruits not elsewhere classified stood at $885 per ton in 2022, reducing by -38.6% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a noticeable decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the average import price increased by 45%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1,442 per ton in 2021, and then shrank remarkably in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($7,043 per ton), while the price for India ($151 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+6.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Exports of Non-Citrus Fruits Not Elsewhere Classified in Tanzania

Non-citrus fruits not elsewhere classified exports from Tanzania contracted sharply to 102 tons in 2022, which is down by -78.2% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 915% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 468 tons, and then dropped markedly in the following year.

In value terms, non-citrus fruits not elsewhere classified exports shrank rapidly to $77K in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 842% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $290K, and then fell rapidly in the following year.
