In 2022, the average steel, alloy; semi-finished products import price amounted to $5,152 per ton, shrinking by -29.9% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average import price increased by 99%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $10,231 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (+22.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Germany.

From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Germany amounted to +27.6% per year.
