In October 2023, the average export price for vegetable saps and extracts; of liquorice amounted to $12,483 per ton, surging by 25% against the previous month. Over the period under review, export price indicated a mild increase from October 2022 to October 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on October 2023 figures, export price for vegetable saps and extracts; of liquorice increased by +25.2% against September 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 118% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $12,592 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to October 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Norway ($9,361 per ton), while the average price for exports to Brazil ($7,115 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Singapore (+3.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+18.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
