Soups Price in Malaysia (FOB) - 2021
The average soups export price stood at $2,286 per ton in December 2021, reducing by -14.1% against the previous month. Overall, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2021 when the average export price increased by 24% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $2,847 per ton in September 2021; however, from October 2021 to December 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In December 2021, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($3,320 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Philippines ($1,747 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hong Kong SAR (+4.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Soups Price in Malaysia (CIF) - 2021
In December 2021, the average soups import price amounted to $3,609 per ton, jumping by 27% against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate measured growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2021 when the average import price increased by 89% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $4,722 per ton in October 2021; however, from November 2021 to December 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2021, the country with the highest price was China ($6,081 per ton), while the price for France ($1,581 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (+18.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Soups Exports in Malaysia
In 2022, the amount of soups and broths exported from Malaysia surged to 4.9K tons, increasing by 31% against 2021 figures. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a perceptible setback.
