Spices; Mixtures Price in Portugal (CIF) - 2023

In June 2023, the average spices; mixtures import price amounted to $4,710 per ton, growing by 61% against the previous month. Overall, the import price enjoyed a temperate increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2022 an increase of 127% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $6,343 per ton. From December 2022 to June 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($14,365 per ton), while the price for Spain ($3,744 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+5.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average spices; mixtures export price stood at $7,534 per ton in 2022, reducing by -31.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw notable growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 83% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $11,002 per ton in 2021, and then shrank dramatically in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($13,767 per ton), while the average price for exports to Cyprus ($3,321 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+0.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in supplies from abroad of spices; mixtureses, when their volume increased by 82% to 1.5K tons.
