Sweet Biscuit Price in Tunisia (FOB) - 2022
The average sweet biscuit export price stood at $1,543 per ton in December 2022, reducing by -6.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a slight reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in May 2022 an increase of 19% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $1,873 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to December 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In December 2022, the highest price was recorded for prices to Togo ($2,571 per ton) and Benin ($2,521 per ton), while the average price for exports to Libya ($1,883 per ton) and Yemen ($2,215 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Morocco (+5.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Sweet Biscuit Price in Tunisia (CIF) - 2022
The average sweet biscuit import price stood at $3,105 per ton in December 2022, with a decrease of -20.2% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated a tangible expansion from December 2021 to December 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.1% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2022 figures, sweet biscuit import price decreased by -33.0% against October 2022 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in October 2022 an increase of 69% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $4,636 per ton. From November 2022 to December 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2022, the country with the highest price was France ($14,121 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($1,915 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Egypt (+18.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Sweet Biscuit Exports in Tunisia
In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of sweet biscuits, when their volume decreased by -14.6% to 10K tons. Overall, exports showed a deep contraction.
In value terms, sweet biscuit exports reduced dramatically to $18M in 2022. In general, exports showed a drastic downturn.
