From 2020 to 2023, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
The purchases of the nine major importers of spinach, namely Swaziland, Morocco, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Algeria, Angola and Botswana, represented more than two-thirds of total import. The following importers - Senegal (X tons) and Liberia (X tons) - each finished at a X% share of total imports.

In value terms, Namibia ($X), Mozambique ($X) and Swaziland ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2023, with a combined X% share of total imports. Morocco, Lesotho, Angola, Botswana, Liberia, Algeria, Senegal and South Africa lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.
Liberia, with a CAGR of X%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2023, the import price in Africa amounted to $X per ton, approximately reflecting the previous year. Over the last eleven years, it increased at an average annual rate of X%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of X%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2021; however, from 2022 to 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Namibia ($X per ton), while South Africa ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
