The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, unmanufactured tobacco imports rose significantly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a abrupt slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by X%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Russia (X tons) represented the largest importer of tobacco (unmanufactured), mixing up X% of total imports. Belarus (X tons) held a X% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Kazakhstan (X%) and Uzbekistan (X%). Armenia (X tons) took a little share of total imports.
Imports into Russia decreased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Uzbekistan (X%), Armenia (X%) and Kazakhstan (X%) displayed positive paces of growth.
