In 2023, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in the East European leek market, when its value decreased by X% to $X. Over the period under review, consumption saw a noticeable curtailment. Leek Production in Eastern Europe

The average leek yield reduced to X tons per ha in 2023, with a decrease of X% on the previous year. Overall, the yield, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Poland was the key exporter of leeks and other alliaceous vegetables in Eastern Europe, with the volume of exports reaching X tons, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2023. Belarus (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Bulgaria (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons) and Hungary (X tons). The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2023 figures, imports increased by X% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year.
