In value terms, soft drink exports shrank to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a remarkable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2021, and then contracted modestly in the following year.
Exports by Country
Poland represented the largest exporting country with an export of about X litres, which amounted to X% of total exports. The Czech Republic (X litres) took a X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Russia (X%), Hungary (X%), Romania (X%) and Slovakia (X%). Ukraine (X litres) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Exports from Poland increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Russia (X%), Romania (X%), Hungary (X%), the Czech Republic (X%), Slovakia (X%) and Ukraine (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Russia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Poland, Russia and Romania increased by X, X and X percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the largest soft drink supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Hungary ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Russia, with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Poland stood at X%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Hungary (X% per year) and Russia (X% per year).

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($X per litre), while Ukraine ($X per litre) was amongst the lowest.

For the eleventh year in a row, Eastern Europe recorded growth in supplies from abroad of soft drinks, which increased by X% to X litres in 2022. Overall, imports posted a buoyant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country
The purchases of the twelve major importers of soft drinks, namely Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Russia, Romania, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Latvia, Estonia and Moldova, represented more than two-thirds of total import.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Ukraine (with a CAGR of X%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Poland ($X), the Czech Republic ($X) and Russia ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined X% share of total imports. Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia and Moldova lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.
Ukraine, with a CAGR of X%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per litre in 2022, stabilizing at the previous year. In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the import price increased by X%. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($X per litre), while Hungary ($X per litre) was amongst the lowest.
