Exports from the U.S.
After two years of growth, shipments abroad of sweet potatoes decreased by X% to X tons in 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when exports increased by X%. The exports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, sweet potato exports fell to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded prominent growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
Canada (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons) and the UK (X tons) were the main destinations of sweet potato exports from the United States, together comprising X% of total exports. Belgium and Mexico lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.

Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.
In value terms, sweet potato imports soared to $X in 2022. In general, imports showed a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of sweet potato to the United States, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, sweet potato imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the Dominican Republic (X tons), fourfold. Canada (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a X% share.
