As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2022 to 2023, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, alkali and rare earth metals imports fell to $X in 2023. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by X%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2022 to 2023, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Russia (X tons) and Poland (X tons) prevails in imports structure, together achieving X% of total imports. From 2012 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Latvia (with a CAGR of X%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Russia ($X), Poland ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2023, with a combined X% share of total imports. Ukraine, Romania and Latvia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.
Among the main importing countries, Latvia, with a CAGR of X%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2023, stabilizing at the previous year. Over the last eleven years, it increased at an average annual rate of X%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices attained the maximum in 2023 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
