In value terms, frozen poultry liver exports rose markedly to $X in 2023. Overall, exports showed a deep setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2023, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Liberia represented the key exporter of frozen poultry livers and offal in ECOWAS, with the volume of exports finishing at X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2023. Benin (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Nigeria (X tons). All these countries together took approx. X% share of total exports. The following exporters - Ghana (X tons) and Burkina Faso (X tons) - together made up X% of total exports.

Liberia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of frozen poultry livers and offal. At the same time, Nigeria (X%) and Benin (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Nigeria emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in ECOWAS, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. In 2023, after two years of growth, there was decline in purchases abroad of frozen poultry livers and offal, when their volume decreased by X% to X tons. Total imports indicated a tangible expansion from 2012 to 2023: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last eleven years. Togo (X tons) took a relatively small share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2023, average annual rates of growth with regard to frozen poultry liver imports into Ghana stood at X%. At the same time, Guinea (X%), Togo (X%), Gambia (X%), Liberia (X%) and Sierra Leone (X%) displayed positive paces of growth.
