Tea Market Size in MENA

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2023, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

The United Arab Emirates prevails in exports structure, amounting to X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2023. Iran (X tons) took an X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Turkey (X%) and Jordan (X%). The following exporters - Saudi Arabia (X tons), Yemen (X tons) and Egypt (X tons) - together made up X% of total exports.

Exports from the United Arab Emirates increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2023. At the same time, Jordan (X%), Turkey (X%) and Saudi Arabia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Jordan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MENA, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. By contrast, Egypt (X%), Yemen (X%) and Iran (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2023, the share of the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Turkey increased by X, X and X percentage points, respectively. From 2014 to 2023, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2023, Egypt (X tons), Iran (X tons), the United Arab Emirates (X tons), Morocco (X tons), Iraq (X tons) and Saudi Arabia (X tons) represented the key importer of tea in MENA, generating X% of total import. It was distantly followed by Algeria (X tons), comprising a X% share of total imports. Yemen (X tons), Libya (X tons), Turkey (X tons), Syrian Arab Republic (X tons) and Jordan (X tons) held a minor share of total imports.
