Gambia (X units) and Sierra Leone (X units) were the key exporters of inductors in 2023, finishing at approx. X% and X% of total exports, respectively. Guinea (X units) ranks next in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by Ghana (X%). Mali (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Imports in Western Africa
In 2023, supplies from abroad of inductors was finally on the rise to reach X units after three years of decline. Over the period under review, imports showed strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by X%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2023, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, inductor imports rose rapidly to $X in 2023. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2023, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2023, Nigeria (X units) represented the largest importer of inductors, achieving X% of total imports. Benin (X units) took a X% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Senegal (X%), Guinea (X%) and Gambia (X%). Burkina Faso (X units) and Togo (X units) took a little share of total imports.
Nigeria experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of inductors. At the same time, Benin (X%), Togo (X%), Gambia (X%), Guinea (X%), Senegal (X%) and Burkina Faso (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Benin emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Western Africa, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. In value terms, Nigeria ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported inductors in Western Africa, comprising X% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Benin ($X), with a X% share of total imports. It was followed by Senegal, with a X% share.
In Nigeria, inductor imports shrank by an average annual rate of X% over the period from 2012-2023. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Benin (X% per year) and Senegal (X% per year).
