Polyurethanes Price in the United States (FOB) - 2023
In July 2023, the average polyurethanes export price amounted to $6,106 per ton, remaining stable against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in June 2023 an increase of 8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $6,764 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to July 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was China ($9,022 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($2,905 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Polyurethanes Price in the United States (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average polyurethanes import price amounted to $5,489 per ton, with an increase of 2.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2023 when the average import price increased by 12% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $5,904 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Japan ($10,099 per ton), while the price for Hungary ($3,598 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+3.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Polyurethanes Exports in the United States
In 2022, approx. 156K tons of polyurethanes in primary forms were exported from the United States; waning by -10.3% against the previous year. In general, exports continue to indicate a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 3.5%.
In value terms, polyurethanes exports rose notably to $939M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 16% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

Polyurethanes Imports in the United States
