From 2015 to 2023, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, worked slate imports expanded sharply to $X in 2023. In general, imports, however, showed a abrupt contraction. Imports by Country

Turkmenistan was the major importer of worked slate in Central Asia, with the volume of imports accounting for X tons, which was near X% of total imports in 2023. Tajikistan (X tons) held a X% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Kazakhstan (X%). Kyrgyzstan (X tons), Mongolia (X tons) and Uzbekistan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of X%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2023, the import price in Central Asia amounted to $X per ton, reducing by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a slight downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of X%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2022, and then shrank notably in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2023, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per ton), while Turkmenistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
