After two years of decline, shipments abroad of mushrooms and truffles increased by X% to X tons in 2023. Over the period under review, exports enjoyed a tangible expansion. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2023, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, mushroom and truffle exports skyrocketed to $X in 2023. Overall, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2023, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
In 2023, Belarus (X tons) represented the major exporter of mushrooms and truffles, constituting X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Russia (X tons), making up a X% share of total exports. Armenia (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2023, average annual rates of growth with regard to mushroom and truffle exports from Belarus stood at X%. At the same time, Russia (X%) and Armenia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Russia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. From 2012 to 2023, the share of Russia increased by X percentage points. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when the export price increased by X%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2023, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while Armenia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (X%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in CIS
After seven years of decline, supplies from abroad of mushrooms and truffles increased by X% to X tons in 2023. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a drastic downturn. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2023, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, mushroom and truffle imports soared to $X in 2023. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a deep slump. The level of import peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2023, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
Russia was the largest importer of mushrooms and truffles in the CIS, with the volume of imports accounting for X tons, which was approx. X% of total imports in 2023. Kazakhstan (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Belarus (X tons) and Moldova (X tons). All these countries together held approx. X% share of total imports.
Imports into Russia decreased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2023. At the same time, Moldova (X%) and Kazakhstan (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Moldova emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. By contrast, Belarus (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Kazakhstan (X p.p.), Moldova (X p.p.) and Belarus (X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2023, the share of Russia (X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

The import price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2023, reducing by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2020 to 2023, the import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Moldova ($X per ton), while Kazakhstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Moldova (X%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
