Cote d'Ivoire represented the largest exporter of plant-growth regulators in ECOWAS, with the volume of exports amounting to X tons, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2023. Senegal (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Ghana (X tons) and Nigeria (X tons). All these countries together held near X% share of total exports. Burkina Faso (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Cote d'Ivoire was also the fastest-growing in terms of the plant-growth regulators exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2023. At the same time, Senegal (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Ghana (X%), Nigeria (X%) and Burkina Faso (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Cote d'Ivoire (X p.p.) and Senegal (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Ghana, Burkina Faso and Nigeria saw its share reduced by X%, X% and X% from 2012 to 2023, respectively.

Imports in ECOWAS

In 2023, approx. X tons of plant-growth regulators were imported in ECOWAS; remaining stable against the previous year. Overall, imports saw a noticeable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by X%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2021; however, from 2022 to 2023, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, plant-growth regulators imports reduced notably to $X in 2023. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed a strong increase.
