Exports by Country
Russia was the key exporter of urea in Europe, with the volume of exports finishing at X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2023. It was distantly followed by the Netherlands (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Poland (X tons), together achieving a X% share of total exports. Belgium (X tons), Lithuania (X tons) and France (X tons) took a minor share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2023, average annual rates of growth with regard to urea exports from Russia stood at X%. At the same time, Poland (X%), Belgium (X%), France (X%), Germany (X%) and the Netherlands (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Poland emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Europe, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. By contrast, Lithuania (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In value terms, urea imports dropped sharply to $X in 2023. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2022 with an increase of X%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then reduced dramatically in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2023, France (X tons), Italy (X tons), Poland (X tons), the UK (X tons), Spain (X tons), Germany (X tons), Belgium (X tons) and Romania (X tons) represented the main importer of urea in Europe, committing X% of total import. Ukraine (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons), Serbia (X tons) and Bulgaria (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2023, the biggest increases were recorded for Romania (with a CAGR of X%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, France ($X), Italy ($X) and Poland ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2023, with a combined X% share of total imports. Spain, the UK, Romania, Germany, Belgium, Ukraine, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Serbia and Bulgaria lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.

Import Prices by Country
The import price in Europe stood at $X per ton in 2023, dropping by X% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of X%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2022, and then dropped markedly in the following year.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major importing countries. In 2023, major importing countries recorded the following prices: in Ukraine ($X per ton) and the Czech Republic ($X per ton), while the UK ($X per ton) and Belgium ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
